What is Corporate Social Responsibility?
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) focuses on fulfilling an organisation’s social responsibilities in relation to providing support to the community. This can include the donation of funds, time, information, goods and services, voice and influence to improve community wellbeing.
VECCI’s CSR strategy
For many years, VECCI has provided support to the community through the donation of time, funds, information and influence. This support has been across a broad spectrum of causes. As part of its ongoing commitment to Business Excellence, VECCI has recognised that strategic CSR outcomes can best be achieved when an organisation’s CSR strategy is aligned to its business objectives.
Business Cares
VECCI’s CSR strategy will specifically focus on supporting community capacity building to address socio economic disadvantage. This will be achieved through partnerships with non-profit organisations that deliver programs in the areas of education, training, apprenticeships, job transition and job opportunities, work experience and micro business enterprises.
VECCI has chosen to partner strategically with three non-profits that will assist in the achievement of the CSR strategy goals:
VECCI will also support other non-profits, at a more operational level, that are aligned to VECCI's CSR strategy.
Get Involved
VECCI encourages business to become more involved in the community and there are many ways of doing so, from providing opportunities for employees to volunteer, to assisting an individual who has been unemployed for some time to transition into the workforce or even mentoring a tertiary student.
VECCI recognises that there are many businesses who already support community organisations and feedback is welcomed from members on their CSR programs.
Our Commitment
As part of VECCI’s Business Cares program, VECCI employees will be provided with ongoing opportunities to volunteer in the community and will be eligible for a day of paid leave to do so.
