VECCI's Policy Achievements

VECCI works with Victorian industry and business to identify common issues and challenges and to seek change by influencing the outcomes of government legislative and regulatory policy. 

VECCI’s list of significant recent policy achievements includes:

• five successive cuts in WorkCover premiums
• significant payroll and land tax relief
• new targets by Government to reduce the level of red tape
• additional funding for vital infrastructure projects, including those in regional Victoria
• measures to alleviate skills shortages and improve the state’s education and training system. 

Lobbying and the preparation of submissions by VECCI has resulted in the state and Federal Governments announcing significant and positive outcomes for business including reduction of payroll, land tax and WorkCover premiums, simplification of business process through the reduction of red tape and initiatives to help business reduce their consumption of natural resources and therefore contribute to the protection of the environment.

VECCI’s work representing Victorian business interests and issues to government is evident in annual State and Federal Government Budget announcements.
