Cape Schanck Light station - Accommodation and museum at the light station
Make the Cape Schanck Light station your base whilst you discover the marvelous Mornington Peninsula. On the light station grounds are four historic, 1859, 1887 and 1939 former light keeper's cottages, with either one or three bedrooms to choose from. Singles, couples, groups or families can stay with a maximum twenty two persons at one time. Continental breakfasts are available in the cottages if required.
The Cape Schanck Light station, complete with it's original, fully functioning beacon, offers visitors a unique glimpse of the past. The historic light is one of the few still operating as it did during the mid 1800's. Surrounded by magnificent historic buildings, the light station allows visitors to recreate in their imaginations the simple life of a bygone era. Our museum explores all the facets of this history and the operation.
