The introduction of the Fair Work Act means employers need to quickly understand the impact of the changes to industrial relations – workplace relations laws.

Over the past year, VECCI has run over 100 briefings, free of charge to members, on the general obligations imposed by the Fair Work Act 2009 and associated considerations.

Parental Leave Entitlements

This ‘Hot Topic’ briefing will focus on the new parental leave entitlements offered under the National Employment Standards (NES) and will provide information on periods of leave, extensions to leave, notice and evidence requirements, safe jobs, impact on leave entitlements if returning to ‘casual’ roles, return to work guarantee and the new requirements. Factual case studies and discussion on the issues and approaches by members will also form part of this ‘Hot Topic’ presentation.
