Grow Me The Money
Grow Me The Money is a 12-month online program designed to help small-to-medium sized businesses become more sustainable and save money.
Participating businesses:
- develop sustainable practices and reduce their bills
- access easy-to-use online tools via a personalised web account
- enjoy support and advice specific to their business
- learn from the experiences of others businesses through our online forum and networking events
- benefit from financial and environmental savings.
So far on average, successful program participants have saved:
- 3.8 MegaLitres of water
- 28 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent
- $6,600.
Grow Me The Money has been developed in partnership with the Victorian Employers’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VECCI) and Environment Protection Authority Victoria.

Carbon Down
Carbon Down is a partnership between government and business aimed at reducing the environmental impact of Victorian businesses. Carbon Down partners with large companies and organisations to develop projects that help small and medium-sized businesses reduce their carbon footprints.
The projects we support:
- achieve measurable carbon reductions;
- help transform the behaviour and attitudes of small and medium-sized businesses;
- encourage businesses to share knowledge and learn from each other.
To be a Carbon Down project partner, your organisation must:
- have a genuine desire to reduce carbon
- already engage with a large number of small and medium-sized businesses (less than 100 employees), be it through your supply chain, customer base, membership or business networks.
Carbon Down is a joint initiative of the Victorian Employers’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VECCI) and the Victorian Government.

Compass
Compass is a new online directory of carbon-reducing information and resources for Victorian businesses. Launched in beta in July 2009, Compass will be the first port of call for Victorian businesses that are looking for sustainable information but are not sure where to start or who to trust.

Market research - climate change knowledge, attitudes and behaviours
Carbon Down has released ground breaking new research into the climate change knowledge, attitudes and range of carbon-reducing behaviours in which small and medium-sized Victorian businesses are engaged.
The research work was carried out in September and December 2008. It involved a series of thirteen focus groups and a survey with a large (1012) representative sample of Victorian businesses.
Small business and climate change fact sheets
Designed for Victorian small businesses, these fact sheets cover climate change issues - the impacts of climate change, policy settings and changing consumer preferences. The ten fact sheets include tailored, sector-specific information for small business in tourism; accommodation; cafes and restaurants; transport; retail and wholesale trade; business and professional services; and manufacturing.
