Why we developed this program
The Diploma of Retail Management is designed for those working in the retail or wholesale sector that hold or wish to hold higher management positions. It also applies to those who are providing support to senior management in a large retail or wholesale outlet or who are responsible for the management of a retail store or wholesale outlet.
Blending theory with practice, this program focuses on workplace learning to ensure its relevance to your particular situation and business.
Who should attend
Retail Store Managers, Wholesale Managers, Retail Managers, Team Leaders or Supervisors, Buyers, Sales Managers, Visual Merchandise Managers, Retail Owners or anyone who is currently employed in the retail or wholesale sector and who has sufficient experience in a current or previous job role.
Entry Requirements
Participants must either:
1. Be recognised as competent, through a recognised training program or recognition process, against the following units of competency:
Plus one of the following:

2. Have sufficient relevant wholesale or retail employment experience (currently or previously) to be able to demonstrate the application of the above competencies. Examples of evidence to support a determination may include:

Job descriptions and references from current or past employers

An entry interview to determine what competencies have been applied in the wholesale or retail environment in a paid or voluntary capacity

Participants will need to complete a Student Selection Checklist and submit this with a completed registration form to apply for enrolment in this program.

Study Options

1 day per fortnight over 18 weeks

Night classes every week over 18 weeks (6.00-9.15pm)

Every second Saturday over 18 weeks
Assessment
For the successful completion of this qualification, participants must complete a series of workplace-based assessment tasks. Assessment tasks must be submitted within six months of completion of each workshop. This program requires participants to undertake extensive self-directed learning in order to successfully complete the course. Participants should allow approximately 8-10 hours per week to complete the self-directed learning and assessment tasks.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available upon enrolment.

Eligibility for a Government Subsidised Place
To be eligible for a Government subsidised place, applicants must be:
