Why we developed this course

Properly trained and skilled contact officers are a valuable resource in any organisation. They provide another option for employees to raise a complaint or issue concerning harassment and bullying.  Contact officers also provide the employer a powerful and practical resource that can assist them in meeting their legal obligation to provide a safe workplace free of any unlawful behaviour.

Many contact officers lose their motivation and enthusiasm if not appropriately utilised.  As such, it is essential that contact officers clearly understand the boundaries of their role and are given an opportunity to revisit what constitutes discrimination, harassment, bullying and victimisation and to practice their skills.

This half-day refresher will keep your contact officer network motivated, ensure they are effectively working within the framework of your policies and procedures, and operate within the clear boundaries of their role. In instances where regular refresher training is not undertaken, this can result in a lack of integrity in the grievance process and may expose the organisation to risk.

This workshop will provide an opportunity to discuss common dilemmas, ensure currency in the changes to legislation and ensure that skills are current, up to date and ready for continued and confident implementation.
