OHS Law for Managers
One of VECCI’s Business Excellence courses
Why we developed this program
The Victorian Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 places significant responsibilities and duties on employers and others. It is now considered the most demanding of any OHS Act in Australia, and prescribes very high penalties for OHS offences.
To avoid the costly consequences of non-compliance, you need to be aware of your employer OHS responsibilities, as well as your own individual responsibilities. Furthermore, you need to have knowledge of the responsibilities of other key parties, such as employees, occupiers, self-employed persons, labour hire agencies, manufacturers and suppliers. The program will equip you with an understanding of the key elements and principles of the OHS Act 2004, and enable you to assess the extent to which both your organisation, and you personally, are compliant with the duties set out by the Act.
