Position Descriptions and Classifications (Local Government)
Why we developed this program
It is important that all respondents to the Victorian Local Authorities Award 2001 understand how to properly classify positions and write position descriptions. Pay rates under this Award are heavily aligned to position descriptors and this workshop will take participants through the process and considerations step by step.
Who should attend
This workshop will provide detailed information for Local Government HR staff and other managers/coordinators involved in position descriptions. It is designed to provide practical assistance by use of examples and case studies, together with user-friendly guides.
What will be covered
This workshop is primarily focused on classifying positions in accordance with relevant awards. It secondly looks at writing and reviewing position descriptions - in an Award context - using a basic model PD with associated guidelines.
Course notes include summaries of key differences to consider when constructing position descriptions - also used as a handy checklist to minimise inadvertent or incorrect use of terminology which may impact on classification assessment.
This course can also be tailored to your exact requirements and can be delivered onsite at your premises. For more information call VECCI on 03 8662 5333.
