At VECCI’s Fast Forward event, we make the most of your time and put you on the speed networking path to success.

Looking for a fresh start or hoping to change career direction? Want to broaden your connections and increase exposure but find the idea of ´networking’ a bit daunting? Or maybe you simply feel you don’t have the time or the ´gift of the gab’ required to meet new contacts and potential customers.

The Fast Forward speed networking event is the ideal way for you to meet quality contacts in quick succession, forge business relationships fast, and have heaps of fun along the way.

Fast Forward is all about cost-effective business development. The event’s unique format guarantees you’ll meet the majority of attendees. Informal drinks and canapés will get you started before the speed networking session begins. A group exercise then ensures you meet even more new contacts, and finally, more informal drinks give you another opportunity to work the room.

We cap the attendees at 70 to give you the best chance of meeting as many people as possible, whilst still keeping a sense of intimacy. We also make sure there are never more than two people from the same company at any one event so you don’t waste time chatting to people you already know!

As with any professional opportunity, it’s best to be prepared. Before you join us for an evening of unadulterated networking, here are a few handy hints to make sure you make the most of the Fast Forward experience.

The five golden rules of speed networking:

1. Bring business cards - at least 50 so you don’t run out.

2. Set objectives. You only have a few minutes with each person so it’s important to know what you want to get out of attending.

3. Listen as much as you talk, if not more. Networking isn’t all about sell, sell, sell and incessant babble could alienate possible future customers.

4. Practice your two-minute ´elevator pitch’. You don’t have long to wow your audience so practicing a punchy and precise overview of you and your business will create a great first impression.

5. Follow up. It sounds obvious but make sure the business cards you collect get put to good use!
