Certificate of Origin
A Certificate of Origin is a specific document that identifies goods and contains express certification by a government authority or other body that the goods originate in a specific country.
A Certificate of Origin may be required by the overseas buyer, the people receiving your products, or by customs officials in the nation to which you are exporting.
Many countries require their import documents to include this certificate. They may also require commercial invoices and/or other documents to be endorsed by a Chamber of Commerce
On paper
- Note: Your certificate must be typed
- Exporters’ Information Form Update MUST be completed and forwarded to VECCI with a list of signatories authorised to sign the certificates on behalf of your company
- Evidence of origin must be supplied prior to stamping i.e. copies of invoice, bill of landing, letter of credit, or statutory declaration
- A copy of documents being stamped must be provided for VECCI records
- All export documents must be signed by the exporter on the bottom left-hand side (under the exporter’s declaration) before being submitted to VECCI for authentication.
Please note that VECCI’s Australian Origin forms cannot be used for goods originating from anywhere other than Australia.
