Quarterly Tourism Industry Performance and Outlook Reports
The key objective of the VTIC Survey of Tourism Performance and Outlook provides tourism operators with Victorian-specific information and data on the performance and outlook of the tourism industry.

The survey aims to assist tourism operators to make better business decisions by allowing them to benchmark their performance against the industry as a whole.

The survey also identifies constraints on business performance, thereby assisting VTIC in its policy representation to State and Commonwealth Governments.

The survey provides a snapshot of the performance of the tourism industry in relation to general business conditions, wage trends and labour costs, selling prices, capacity utilisation, profitability, employment and investment levels. Tourism operators provide information on these indicators for the current quarter and are asked to predict the direction of these indicators over the forthcoming three months. The survey also asks respondents to identify specific constraints on business performance, examining issues such as competition levels, exchange rate movements, taxation and regulation, labour costs, skill levels and overall business sentiment.
