In the lead up to the November State election, VECCI is holding a series of major policy forums on the key issues affecting Victorian business.
The Pre-Election Forums will continue the momentum of the highly successful 2005 Victoria Summit, where VECCI advocated strong policy positions on behalf of members on a range of issue areas including energy policy, labour supply, infrastructure, exports and Commonwealth/State relations. The Pre-Election Forums will provide an opportunity for spokespersons for the major political parties to present their policies to key business leaders in the lead up to the election, allowing open debate and discussion of major policy issues from a business point of view.

Labour Supply Forum
The Pre-Election Forum on Labour Supply will be held at VECCI on 24 October. The speakers at the Forum will include the Hon. Lynne Kosky, Minister for Education and Training; Mr Martin Dixon, Shadow Minister for Education; and the Hon. Bill Baxter, National Party Spokesperson for Industry and Industrial Relations.

Infrastructure Policy Forum
The Pre-Election Forum on Infrastructure was held at VECCI on 19 September. Our speakers included Peter Batchelor, Minister for Transport; Terry Mulder, Shadow Minister for Transport and Ports; and Peter Ryan, Leader of the National Party.
