MPs in Business

Forty-two Victorian Members of Parliament are participating in VECCI's second MPs in Business ProgramTM, spending up to a day with business hosts across the State.

Pioneered and run by VECCI, the biennial Program was successfully launched in 2004 to allow MPs to gain first-hand knowledge of how businesses operate.

Labor, Liberal and National MPs have spent time over recent weeks with a range of businesses and organisations to exchange ideas and discuss issues and challenges facing the State's business community.

Our pictures capture some of the MPs away from their usual Spring Street environment.

Murray Thompson (foreground) (Liberal, Sandringham) in the production area of automotive components manufacturer, Hella Australia Pty Ltd, Mentone, with CEO, Peter Doyle.
Johan Scheffer (left) (Labor, Monash Province) spent the day at Audio Visual Dynamics, Port Melbourne. He is pictured with AVD Managing Director Peter Worth.

Shadow Transport Minister, Terry Mulder (right) (Liberal Polwarth) pictured at the Port of Melbourne Authority head office, Collins Street, with PMA CEO Stephen Bradford.

Jenny Mikakos (Labor, Jika Jika Province) explains the role of a parliamentarian to an English as Second Language (ESL) class at Reservoir District Secondary College.

Shadow Treasurer, Robert Clark (Liberal, Box Hill) takes his turn in the lunch queue at the St Vincent De Paul Society, Ozanam Community Centre in North Melbourne.

National Party Leader, Peter Ryan (second left) (NP, Gippsland South) is pictured at Dyers Gippsland Transport, Sale, with (left to right) David, Scott and Greg Dyer.
