Comments Required: Potential Reforms to the Business Name Registration System
Consumer Affairs Victoria is currently investigating potential reforms to the business name registration system in light of the Government's recent commitment to reducing the regulatory burden for Victorian businesses.

There are three proposals being investigated.

1. Extending the renewal requirement from three to five years.
2. Allowing businesses to update their details online.
3. Removing the requirement that electronic applicants keep a completed hard copy of the form.

Consumer Affairs Victoria welcomes all feedback. The full discussion paper can be found at www.consumer.vic.gov.au

Comments are due by Friday 25 February 2008 and can be submitted via e-mail or post.
See discussion paper for details.
