Victoria is a great state to live, work and visit. However, at VECCI we are always looking forward to how we can make this an even better state with improved productivity and liveability.

Some will look at our longer-term ideas and say that they are not achievable or demand in-depth costings. However, we are not the Government – we are an employer group that exists to represent the needs and wishes of our membership. To that end, it is an aspect of our role to put ideas and suggestions into the melting pot to be considered by Governments and Oppositions when they are formulating policies. Some of these ideas may be taken up and some may not.

Last week, VECCI held the biennial Victoria Summit – an event aimed at presenting new ideas to assist business prosper and grow. A series of recommendations were made under the banners of Sustainability, Infrastructure, Innovation and Industry Policy and Workplace Futures.

To read the four Summit papers with the recommendations, as well as key speeches from the day, please visit www.vecci.org.au

The day’s proceedings, including a summary of presentations made, is available on the VECCI Blog

I also encourage VECCI members, customers and clients to visit the VECCI Blog to have their say on the recommendations as we continue to advocate for future policy in areas that impact on Victorian business.
