The Hotel, Motel and Accommodation Association (Vic) today announced the appointment of a new Chair, Mr Steven Finlayson.
Mr Finlayson is the current General Manager of the Radisson on Flagstaff Gardens and has extensive experience in the accommodation industry around the world. With a strong background in a range of accommodation management roles in areas including; food and beverage; sales and marketing; and business operations, Mr Finlayson has first-hand experience of the challenges and opportunities facing the industry.
Mr Finlayson replaces Mr Ricardo Krauskopf, who has served as Chair during 2008.
“I have been proud to serve as Chair of the HMAA and progress the key issues facing the accommodation industry. I wish Steven all the best.” says Mr Krauskopf.
“Ricardo has been an outstanding Chair of the HMAA and has been integral in promoting excellence within the accommodation industry and championing the issues of importance to HMAA members,” says VECCI Tourism Services Manager, Ms Leah Cioccio.
“Due to his extensive experience in the accommodation sector, both in Australia and around the world, Steven has a unique insight into the issues facing the accommodation industry and a commitment to excellence within the sector.
“Steven’s passion for the industry will ensure he will be a strong advocate for the accommodation sector of issues directly impacting on operators.” says Ms Cioccio.
“I look forward to ensuring HMAA members have strong representation to ensure that further reforms and innovations can be made to ensure the accommodation industry can continue to grow and prosper” says Mr Finlayson.
