Poll results: flexibility favoured over traditional 9-to-5 day

Date: 27/11/2009

Category: Representation

VECCI recently surveyed members as to whether or not the 38-hour working week was optimal for productivity. Of all the votes recorded, 63 per cent of respondents believe that work hours should be flexible and negotiated between employers and employees.

Of the remaining respondents, 17 per cent felt they were able to find the correct balance between work and life with the traditional 38-hour working week, while the remainder were split between 38-hours being too long or not long enough.

The survey was undertaken on the VECCI Blog and generated interesting conversation about workplace flexibility. To view comments, results and post your opinions, please visit the VECCI Blog
