The Federal Government's Rural and Regional Incentive aims to help build a skilled regional workforce in industries experiencing skills shortages.
For employers to be eligible for the Rural and Regional Incentive of $1000 the Australian Apprenticeship must be an approved skill shortage occupation or trade, and be undertaken at a workplace located within specific rural and regional areas.
There are over 150 Australian Apprenticeships that have been approved as skill shortage occupations or trades within the following industries:
- Aeroskills
- Agriculture
- Automotive
- Community Services
- Electrotechnology Entertainment
- Construction
- Food
- Hairdressing
- Horticulture
- Information Technology
- Hospitality
- Seafood
- Metals & Engineering
