On February 21, 100 people gathered in a popular laneway in Melbourne's famous Flinders quarter for the annual backpacker and adventure travel networking night (previously Gala) 'Heads Up'.
There's always a buzz in Melbourne when the expo comes to town, and BOAV was pleased to welcome our interstate guests to experience a quintessential Melbournian event, and to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and resources in this tight-knit industry.
Over 50 industry operators watched, listened, laughed and then voted after hearing various points of value, questionable statistics and blatant rubbish! Speakers from the Herald Sun, Global Gossip and Backpacker Travel Auctions amongst others went head to head under the watchful eye of Malcolm O'Brien of Lonely Planet acting as adjudicator.
