Workers Compensation

Workers compensation is compulsory for all employers in Australia, and in Victoria, workers compensation is the responsibility of the Victorian WorkCover Authority, with policy administration and claims management being conducted by several workers compensation insurers (Agents). Premium rates are standard across all Agents an employer chooses to manage their worker compensation insurance.
WorkSafe Victoria’s Employer survey results for 2007/08 revealed that GIO’s Employer Satisfaction reached 92.2%, whereas the scheme average across all workers compensation Agents was 84.4%. In 2006/07, GIO Workers Compensation’s Employer Satisfaction was 87.2% against a scheme average of 82.3%.
