Liberal and National MPs see business from the inside

Twenty-seven non-Government MPs are gaining first-hand knowledge of how businesses operate by taking part in VECCI's second MPs in Business Program.

Pioneered and run by VECCI, the Program was launched successfully in February this year.

The first Liberal and National MPs who agreed to take part in the current Program spent up to a full day with business hosts across the State last week and others will complete their visits over coming weeks.

The Program's focus is on building an improved awareness among MPs of what businesses do, what their goals are, and the strategic and operational issues they face.

It gives MPs first hand experience of the strategic and operational issues facing the Victorian business community.

Individual businesses benefit by developing an appreciation of the wider and at times competing demands placed on MPs by a variety of constituents, as well as making closer contacts with their local MP.
