Melbourne-based polyethylene manufacturer, Qenos, took out top honours in the 2004 Savewater Awards, earning the Award for Excellence and winning the "Metropolitan Manufacturing" category.
The Savewater Awards are Victoria's leading water sustainability awards, established to acknowledge organisations that have demonstrated outstanding innovation and achievement in water conservation and wastewater management. Other VECCI members that won their categories included Grampians Water, which won the "Government Agency" and "Education and Communication" categories, and the City of Melbourne, which won the "Local Government" category.
The 2004 Awards were presented by the Acting Minister for Water, the Hon Bob Cameron MP, in a ceremony at the Park Hyatt on 21 May. In recognition of its strong representation of Victorian business and its interest in sustainability issues, VECCI was represented on the judging panel by Senior Economist, Chris Cudsi.
