5/16/2005 4:02:13 AM
Bendigo business leaders will have the opportunity to be briefed on the Commonwealth Games at the VECCI Regional Business Leaders’ Lunch.

The luncheon will take place at The Capitol at Bendigo’s Performing Arts Centre (50 View Street, Bendigo) on Tuesday 17 May from 12 noon to 2.00pm.

VECCI General Manager - Regions, Denis James says that the guest speaker will be Mr Clive Dwyer, the Group Manager for Tourism and Destination Marketing at the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games, where he is responsible for developing the marketing program to maximise the tourism impact of the Games.

“Clive has had over 20 years of sport and tourism marketing experience and prior to his role at the 2006 Games he was at Tourism Victoria as General Manager, Product and Destination Marketing, developing a range of campaigns under the acclaimed “You’ll Love Every Piece of Victoria” campaign and major events marketing strategy.

His previous roles include Marketing Manager at Mount Buller Ski Resort and Executive Director of the Victorian Ski Association”, says Mr James.

“In this presentation, Clive will provide an update on the Games planning, its potential impact of Victoria and case studies on how Victoria and Bendigo can leverage off the most significant event to be held in this State in recent times”, says Mr James.
