VECCI has appointed Murray Wallace to be the 'Next Step Exporter Program' Adviser in Wodonga.
The 'Next Step Exporter Program' is a key initiative of the State Government's 'Opening Doors to Export Plan' - an $11 million strategy to boost the State's exports to $30 billion and increase the number of Victorian companies exporting by 2010.
VECCI International Trade Manager, Patricia Griffiths said the appointment of Murray Wallace will give 20 North East Victorian companies access to much needed skills and experience over the next two years. It will also help to break down barriers caused by lack of skills, resources, knowledge or time.
Murray has over 15 years experience in export markets and has worked with diverse a range of industries including crude oil, meat products, and pet care. Country born and raised, Murray has shared his extensive export experience in markets such as the Middle East, Northern Asia, South Africa and Canada.
Throughout the program, there will be strong focus on transferring of skills of the Export Advisers to the senior management team responsible for development of export business in prospective Victorian exporting companies. The major area of skills transfer may include:

To be eligible for assistance under the Next Step Exporter Program, companies must be Victorian-based, financially viable and have a history of operating for two years and exporting for one year.
