VECCI has appointed a new manager in Victoria's Central/North Eastern region – Ms Caroline Mirtschin.
"This new appointment will drive member service in towns such as Wodonga, Wangaratta, Shepparton, Benalla, Euroa, Rutherglen, Nagambie and Yarrawonga, as well as other locations in Central/North Eastern Victoria", says VECCI Chief Executive Officer, Neil Coulson.
"Central/North Eastern Victoria is a key part of VECCI's regional network and Caroline's appointment to this new role signals a continued commitment by VECCI to regional members and to the broader business community.
"This appointment comes at a time when VECCI has achieved in the recent State Budget reductions in land tax, payroll tax and WorkCover premiums and cuts in red tape - improvements we have been seeking on behalf of members for a number of years.
"Caroline brings to VECCI over thirteen years experience in human resource management, industrial relations, occupational health & safety, training, project management, sales and marketing.
"Caroline's background in Group Training operations has provided her with unique exposure to literally hundreds of local businesses across a diverse range of industries. Working with employers so closely has provided her with a unique appreciation of the challenges faced by regional employers, particularly in relation to the recruitment and retention of staff, performance management and the legislative compliance responsibilities that many small businesses continue to grapple with on a daily basis.
"Her experience in employee management is extensive and ranges from the provision of hands-on service and support to employers in their own businesses through to operating at company executive level as a divisional manager.
"Caroline was born and raised in Wodonga and returned with her partner to the local region 11 years ago. She has undertaken training and professional development through Deakin University and the AHRI, together with qualifications in Workplace Training & Assessment.
"VECCI members will benefit from Caroline's broad exposure to business practices and her ability to adapt readily to the unique management style and culture that defines every business.
"Her arrival in the role coincides with the appointment of Wayne Kayler-Thomson, former Deputy CEO of Tourism Victoria, as VECCI Executive General Manager Strategic Marketing & Industry Development, with responsibility for regional membership.
"These appointments represent a significant commitment to business development in regional Victoria.
"VECCI members will experience the immediate benefits brought about by increased investment in the regions and play a key role in advocacy at both State and National level", says Mr Coulson.
