VECCI has appointed a new regional manager in Victoria’s Geelong and South West region, Mr James Gulli.
“This new appointment will drive member service in locations such as Geelong, Warrnambool, Portland, Colac, the Bellarine Peninsula and the Surf Coast, as well as other locations in South West Victoria”, says VECCI Chief Executive Officer, Neil Coulson.
“South West Victoria is a key part of VECCI’s regional network and James’s appointment to this new role signals a continued commitment by VECCI to regional members and to the broader business community, particularly when other bodies are pulling out of the regions.
“This appointment comes at a time when VECCI has achieved in the recent State Budget reductions in land tax, payroll tax and WorkCover premiums and cuts in red tape - improvements we have been seeking on behalf of members for a number of years.
James brings to VECCI extensive generalist Human Resources, client liaison and business development skills and experience.
After growing up in Geelong, James moved to Melbourne when he was accepted into Melbourne University. He then lived and worked in Melbourne in the recruitment industry as a senior consultant for blue chip international firms such as Drake Executive and Morgan & Banks.
In 1992, James and his wife decided to move back to Geelong to raise a family. He commuted to Melbourne for work until, in 1999, he began working for People @ Work, the largest recruiter in the Geelong region, initially as Client Services Manager, then progressing to General Manager.
“VECCI members will experience the immediate benefits brought about by increased investment in the regions and play a key role in advocacy at both a State and National level”, says Mr Coulson.
Media will be able to meet James at the VECCI/Optus Regional Business Leaders’ Luncheon at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel, Geelong, between 12.00pm and 2.30pm on Tuesday 15 August, 2006. The keynote speaker at this luncheon is the Minister for Information and Communication Technology and Consumer Affairs, the Hon Marsha Thomson MLC.
