HMAA announce new Chair
2/14/2008 6:31:48 AM

The Hotel, Motel and Accommodation Association (Vic) today announced the appointment of a new Chair, Mr Ricardo Krauskopf.

Mr Krauskopf is the current Director of the Alto Hotel on Bourke and has extensive experience within the tourism and hospitality industry, spanning more than 30 years.

Mr Krauskopf replaces Ms Carol Douglas, who has served as Chair since 2006.

"I have been proud to serve as Chair of the HMAA and progress the key issues facing our industry. I wish Ricardo all the best." says Ms Douglas.

"Carol has been an outstanding Chair of the HMAA and has been integral in promoting the accommodation industry and the issues of importance to HMAA members," says HMAA Executive Officer, Tom Stafford.

"Ricardo brings extensive experience and passion for the industry to this role. He will continue to ensure HMAA members have a strong voice and presence,"

"He has a unique insight into the issues facing the accommodation industry as he has not only worked within the industry, he has owned and operated several motels and serviced apartments," says Mr Stafford.

"I look forward to ensuring HMAA members have strong representation to ensure that further reforms and innovations can be made to ensure the accommodation industry can continue to grow" says Mr Krauskopf.

HMAA is recognised as the leading industry body in the accommodation sector within Australia. HMAA represents accommodation based establishments ranging from 5 star hotels and motels to bed and breakfasts adding up to a membership base of more than 2,000 properties in Australia.
