1/24/2008 3:42:14 AM

The announcement that Jetstar will expand services to Melbourne from Darwin will benefit the Victorian tourism industry, says VTIC.

"The increased services will make it easier and more cost-effective for tourists from Darwin to visit Victoria", says VTIC Chairman Mr Jeremy Johnson.

"With Jetstar linking flights between Darwin and Singapore, it will assist travellers from Asia as well as the Northern Territory take their vacations or do business in Victoria.

"This expansion will ensure that flights to Melbourne from Darwin remain competitive and provide tourists with flexibility in their travel arrangements.

"I commend Jetstar’s decision to offer tourists greater choice in flights to Melbourne", says Mr Johnson.
