Melbourne Airport expansion to benefit Victorian business
1/16/2008 10:51:06 PM
The commencement of the expansion to Melbourne Airport’s international terminal will provide ongoing benefits to Victorian businesses through increased tourism and trade opportunities, says VECCI.

“In order to grow trade opportunities and ensure Victoria is an essential holiday location for international tourists, it is vital that Victoria has a secure, modern and high quality international airport”, says VECCI Chief Executive Officer Wayne Kayler-Thomson.

“The expansion will provide new security, customs and passenger facilities which will make arriving and departing from Melbourne Airport more comfortable and efficient for passengers, which will assist our tourism and event industry and encourage more visitors to our state.

“Importantly, this project will also encourage increased trade opportunities for Victorian businesses by providing a streamlined and efficient avenue for business travellers.

“I congratulate Melbourne Airport on the commencement of this important project and look forward to the benefits the expansion will provide to all Victorians upon completion in 2011”, says Mr Kayler-Thomson.
