2008 VECCI Charity Golf Day Results
|
The 10th Annual Vecci Geelong Charity Golf day was a huge success with a picture perfect day for the 138 players. This year working in partnership with our major sponsor the Gordon Institute of TAFE all proceeds will assist Barwon Health Foundation to purchase a $15,000 Defibrillator for the New Emergency Dept. Resuscitation Bay.
With the support of sponsors including; 13th Beach Golf links, Matchworks, pb Financial Solutions, VicSuper, City of Greater Geelong, LBW Accountants, and Kane Construction, we successfully raised $13,100.
I am proud to announce an additional donation from our generous major sponsor the Gordon Institute of Tafe resulted in a cheque to Barwon Health Foundation for the $15,000 allowing the purchase the Defibrillator. This was a great achievement which could not have been possible without the support of our local VECCI members.
Don't forget to diarise our 11th Annual Vecci Geelong Charity Golf Day scheduled for 20th Feb 2009.

Successful Grow Me The Money Launch in Geelong & Warrnambool

The VECCI and EPA joint initiative Grow Me The Money program touched down in Warrnambool 1st Aug & Geelong 2nd Aug.

The City of Warrnambool hosted the networking event in Warrnambool, with 25 attendees enjoying the information session presented by Ben Norden from the GMTM operations team. Andrew Jeffers from Wannon Water was a guest speaker and outlined various water & energy saving initiatives implemented at Wannon Water.

In Geelong Grow Me The Money was partnered by Barwon Regional Waste Management Group and attracted over 70 participates to the breakfast launch. Once again Ben Norden provided insight into the free program.

22nd Annual Geelong Advertiser Business Excellence Awards - 2007
On Wednesday 25 July, the 22 Annual Geelong Advertiser Business Excellence Awards were held and various VECCI members were involved as entrants across 19 Award Categories.
VECCI has been sponsored these awards for 13 years, and is one of the longest supporters.
Well done & congratulations to Ray Frost and the Ray's Outdoors Team which were judged The Geelong Business of the Year for 2007.

2007 Victoria Summit Participation
Andrew Rimington has visited the Region and presented the Victoria Summit forum topic Localising Skills & Education to the Geelong & Warrnambool Regional Business Councils. The feedback gathered by Andrew will provide valuable Regional input to the final Vic Summit findings and recommendations for this forum topic.
